On Sunday, January 12, it was a Melbourne Derby at the Marvel Stadium as Melbourne Renegades took on Melbourne Stars. The Renegades won the toss and asked the Marcus Stoinis-led side to bat first.

It was the perfect decision as the Stars kept losing wickets like dominos and were reduced to 75/7 after 11 overs. Meanwhile, it was an electrifying atmosphere at the Marvel Stadium as the roof was closed the stadium had renowned sporting figures in attendance like Novak Djokovic.

Notably, on the 3rd ball of the 8th over, Marcus Stoinis hit the ball high in the air, but got caught at the boundary. The camera panned to Djokovic, who was stunned by what he saw. Meanwhile, the incident also sparked a debate whether the ball hit the roof or not.

There was no conclusive evidence in the video, but the internet was divided following the dismissal as a few thought it was a certain six. Nonetheless, here is the incident as to how Djokovic reacted to Stoinis' shot.

Marvel Stadium Roof Again in Controversy

It is worth noting that Djokovic is here in Melbourne for the first grand slam of the year, Australian open, which commenced on January 12. The 24 grand slam winners will play his first round match on January 13.

Talking about the match, the Marvel Stadium roof has often hogged the headlines as it, on several occasions, become a topic of controversy. The last was when the umpire signalled a dead ball as to what looked a six.

At the time of writing this article, the Stars are in trouble and put 105/7 with Glenn Maxwell taking the onus on his shoulders.
