In a heartwarming gesture during the 25th match of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) GOAT Virat Kohli urged the crowd to halt their jeers aimed at Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Hardik Pandya.

The incident unfolded as Pandya took to the crease following the dismissal of former MI skipper Rohit Sharma. As Pandya faced the brunt of the crowd's disapproval, Kohli stepped in, gesturing for the fans to offer support instead.

Pandya's tenure as MI captain has been marked by scrutiny and criticism, particularly after replacing Rohit Sharma. However, Kohli's compassionate intervention served as a reminder of the shared identity among Indian players, transcending team rivalries.

Meanwhile, MI showcased their dominance on the field, securing a resounding 7-wicket victory over RCB. Led by Pandya's decision to bowl first, MI restricted RCB to 196/8, with Jasprit Bumrah's impressive 5/21 performance standing out.

In response, MI's chase was led by explosive batting from Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma, followed by a stellar innings from impact player Suryakumar Yadav. Pandya and Tilak Varma then sealed the win with quickfire knocks, further solidifying MI's position in the IPL standings.

As MI climbs to the 7th spot in the ladder, RCB faces an uphill battle with just one win to their name. The upcoming clashes against arch-rivals and fellow contenders promise to intensify the competition in the league.
