The much-awaited IPL 2024 has got off to a dream start for Kolkata Knight Riders as they have reduced SRH to 47-4 in 7 overs. Abhishek Sharma was dismissed in the very first over and soon Travis Head and Rahul Tripathi also departed in the Powerplay. There was a bit of partnership after that, but Harshit Rana struck in the 7th over to put SRH in an even deeper hole.

It was the final delivery of the over and Harshit Rana bowled it full, around off. Nitish Reddy tried to drive it down the ground, but got an outside edge and Gurbaz grabbed an easy catch behind the stumps. The wicket brought a wave of happiness in the KKR camp and Shahrukh Khan's daughter Suhana Khan was overjoyed after the wicket.

Earlier, Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bat first but the way his batters have struggled, he would be thinking long and hard about his choice. If KKR wins this big final, they will lift their third title after the gap of eight long years while SRH last won the trophy in 2016 under the leadership of David Warner.
