India's premier all-rounder Nitish Reddy showcased his incredible fielding attributes, as he grabbed a sensational catch to dismiss Jos Buttler in the ongoing first T20I against England in Kolkata. His magnificent diving catch helped Varun Chakravarthy get his third wicket of the match.
The incident occurred during the 17th over of England's innings when Jos Buttler was guiding the English innings as a lone warrior. With wickets tumbling at the other end, the English skipper decided to take on Varun Chakravarthy in order to unsettle him.
The swashbuckling batter hammered the Indian spinner for a huge six; however, Varun Chakravarthy took little time to take revenge, dismissing Buttler on the very next delivery. From over the wicket, Chakravarthy bowled a quicker seam-up delivery. As Buttler went on to play a pull shot, he mistimed it, with the ball travelling to the square leg fence.
Nitish Reddy, who was fielding near the boundary, ran forward and timed his dive to perfection, holding on to a spectacular catch at deep square leg.
India Bowl England Out For 132 Runs In 1st T20I
After winning the toss, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav opted to field first. His decision proved to be a masterstroke, as Arshdeep Singh dismissed Phil Salt and Ben Duckett cheaply. Although Buttler struck a glorious fifty, none of the other English batters could put up a fight against India's rampant bowling attack. As a result, England were bowled out for a paltry 132 run total on a batting-friendly track.
