In the 18th match of the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, West Indies won the toss and opted to bat first against Uganda at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

In the ongoing clash between both teams, WI started their innings on a good note and the openers provided a much-needed start, until Brandon King, the West Indies opener, was dismissed by Uganda spinner Alpesh Ramjani.

Nicholas Pooran made a dramatic entrance at number three, launching a monstrous six against Ramjani in the 5th over.  Pooran knelt and slogged a full delivery just outside off-stump over deep mid-wicket for another maximum, getting off the mark in style.

Pooran got off the mark in style with his huge hit and looked for a big knock. However, his knock did not extend past the tenth over of the innings. Brian Masaba resulted in the end of the Pooran's stay in the middle as he dismissed him of a caught and bowled.

West Indies are looking to win this match against Uganda by a considerable margin to boost their net run rate. The dismissal of Pooran could hinder their progress towards a big total.
