West Indies Decide To Bat First As They Win The Coin Flip In Guyana

West Indies and Uganda are playing each other in the 18th match of the T20 World Cup 2024. This match is being played at the Providence Satdium in Guyana.

Rovman Powell, the West Indian captain won the toss in the game and decided to bat first. The skipper believed that it is a typical Guyanese wicket where there will be runs for the batters, if they bat carefully.

On the other hand, Uganda who picked up their first T20 World Cup win in their last outing against Papua New Guinea would have also batted first if they won the toss. They will be looking to continue their momentum into this and cause the real big upset from their side.

While, Uganda will be looking to upset one of the favourites for this tournament, West Indies will be eager to mend their ways before moving onto the next stage. Players like Brandon King, Nicholas Pooran, Rovman Powell and Andre Russell will like to feel the ball on their bat and get some runs under their belt.

Notably this game is very important for the West Indian campaign, with Afghanistan taking the top position in their group and their match against New Zealand yet to come. They need to stack up the win here to keep their chances high of making it to the next round.

Considering how the World Cup has progressed so far, the slightest of carelessness from West Indies' part might result in another upset in the tournament.
