Coming in as an impact substitution, RCB’s Mahipal Lomror put up a spirited performance against Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday in Match 15 of the IPL 2024 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. The 24-year-old smashed 33 off just 13 deliveries, laced with three fours and as many sixes, albeit it was not enough to take his side past the finishing line.

And the best shot of his breezy knock was the way he played an exquisite ramp shot against Naveen-ul-Haq during the 17th over of RCB’s innings.

Coming to chase 192, none of RCB’s star quartet – Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Faf du Plessis, and Cam Green – made a significant impact to set the platform for others. Yet Lomror did not give up, and the way he played a cute shot against Naveen made a lot of headlines.

After watching a 117.6 kph slow delivery, Lomror, who was initially thought to play a pull shot, made his adjustment brilliantly to play an audacious ramp shot. The timing was perfect, as the ball went straight over LSG skipper KL Rahul’s head for four runs.

A ball prior to that, Lomror picked up a full delivery off Naveen-ul-Haq and bludgeoned it over long-on for a 98-meter six.
