In a thrilling encounter between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL 2024, the match witnessed a dramatic turn of events as Suryakumar Yadav departed for a golden duck again, courtesy of a sensational catch by Mustafizur Rahman.

After posting a formidable total of 206 runs, CSK were looking to put pressure on MI. In the 8th over, Suryakumar Yadav, the dynamic batsman, stepped in to stabilize the innings. 

However, fate had other plans for him as he faced a brilliant delivery from Pathirana and edged it to deep third man.

What followed was sheer brilliance from Mustafizur Rahman. Positioned perfectly at the boundary, he leaped high to catch the ball, but in an extraordinary display of athleticism, he flicked the ball in the air as he teetered on the edge of the boundary line. 


Rahman then composed himself, re-entered the field of play, and completed the catch cleanly, despite the precarious situation.

The umpires referred the catch to the TV umpire, and replays confirmed Rahman's exceptional effort, marking it as the catch of the year. This crucial wicket sent ripples of jubilation through the CSK camp, while MI faced a sudden setback.

Pathirana, meanwhile, showcased his prowess by taking two wickets in the same over, adding to MI's woes. With Suryakumar Yadav's departure, CSK gained a significant advantage in the match.
