Promising speedster Simarjeet Singh emerged as the hero for Chennai Super Kings in their thirteenth group-stage match against Rajasthan Royals as he got the prized breakthrough of the RR openers, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler. After outfoxing Jaiswal with a short ball, Simarjeet dismissed Buttler, helping the hosts claim the driving seat.

The incident occurred during the ninth over of RR's innings when they were struggling to accelerate against CSK's disciplined bowling unit. Bowling the first ball of his second over, Simarjeet kept it full, with Buttler playing a ramp shot to break the shackles.

However, the explosive Englishman, who had just completed 3000 runs in the IPL, fell in the trap set by none other than MS Dhoni as Tushar Deshpande put an end to his stay with an acrobatic catch.

Notably, just before the delivery, Dhoni had asked the fielder to come slightly finer and be prepared for a catch.

Deshpande, who received massive backlash for dropping Shubman Gill the other night, did no mistake this time, running towards his right and claiming a superb catch near the square leg boundary.

After Buttler departed, Dhoni was delighted as his tactical ploy worked wonders for the franchise.

Regarding the game, the Royals have toiled hard for every run so far, scoring at an abysmal rate of 6.18. As of writing, they were 68 for two, with skipper Sanju Samson batting alongside the in-form Riyan Parag.
