In a significant development, Rajasthan Royals have won the toss and elected to bat first in their twelfth group-stage IPL 2024 match against Chennai Super Kings. 

The Royals have made one change, bringing Dhruv Jurel into the playing XI for this high-octane clash. 

Meanwhile, the Super Kings have replaced Mitchell Santner with ace Sri Lankan spinner Maheesh Theekshana. 

At toss, RR skipper Sanju Samson revealed that they would bat first as dew is not expected at the venue in the evening. 

"We will bat first. It looks like a better wicket to bat on, being a day game we are not expecting any dew. Yeah, it has been a bit different. We've had a change in conditions and weather, which has been a challenge for us," Samson said. 

Meanwhile, CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad said that bowling might be tough for the Super Kings due to the hot and humid conditions. He stated, 

"Coming into this game I was not in much pressure as dew is not a factor anymore so doesn't really matter whether we bat or bowl first. Given the conditions bowling would be a tougher job. Pitch will pretty much remain the same throughout the game."
