Shardul Thakur's return to Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024 has not been a memorable one so far, as he has not been able to live upto his billing with both bowl and bat. In the match 53 of IPL 2024 between Punjab Kings and CSK, he, however, scored 17 crucial runs with the bat and then got the wicket in his very first ball.
The right-arm pacer got his first over in the 18th over of PBKS innings' when the match was almost done and dusted, but Thakur made sure that he does not go away from the game without any success with the ball.
On the third delivery of the over, Shardul bowled a fullish delivery angling on the stumps and Rahul Chahar who was batting well got across the line to scoop it.

He missed the ball completely though, and got knocked over much to the delight of Shardul Thakur. MS Dhoni was also pretty happy and after giving high-five to Shardul, had a candid chat with the Shardul, who was one of the key figures in CSK's IPL win back in 2018.

Chennai Super Kings eventually won the game by 28 runs as Punjab Kings were reduced to 139 in their run-chase of 168.
