The loud screams and cheers at the Dharamshala stadium took a wild turn as MS Dhoni walked back for a golden duck. This is the first time in IPL 2024, that MS Dhoni departed without opening his account. Harshal Patel, who just got done with Shardul Thakur on the previous ball, cleaned up MS Dhoni with an absolute peach. Pin drop silence reverberated through the entire stadium as everyone's beloved Thala walk backed as quick as he entered.

PBKS' pacer, Patel knocked over the stumps with a perfectly executed slower yorker, that aimed at attacking the off-stump. MS Dhoni, got down on one knee as he hoped to get under it and smash it down the ground, however he failed to do so.

MS Dhoni had a clean track record this season as he went on a 7-match streak without being dismissed but looks like Punjab especially Harshal Patel has taken a vow to dismiss him over and over again. In CSK's last encounter that was against Sam Curran & Co it was Harshal who took scalped Dhoni via run-out. 

This was a big loss for Chennai Super Kings, especially considering that the man who has been making an impact for them in the death overs this season had to walk back empty-handed.
