In match 53 of the Indian Premier League between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Chennai Super Kings (PBKS) at the picturesque HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on May 5, 2024, the PBKS skipper Sam Curran has his tails up against Ruturaj Gaikwad's Chennai.

CSK had a miserable start in the match losing Ajinkya Rahane early, Daryl Mitchell came into bat and scored 30 runs off 19 balls, but Harshal Patel got him out in the 10th over.

CSK had lost captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube, who was trapped by Rahul Chahar as he departed for a golden duck in back-to-back matches. Things became tighter for the five-time champions as they lost Moeen Ali to Curran.

Moeen Ali, who was looking threatening, entered the ground at number 5 after Dube's dismissal. However, the Englishman couldn't do much damage as he surrendered against his countryman, Sam Curran at 17 runs in 20 balls.

Sam Curran bowled a slower bouncer from back-of-the-hand, angling into Moeen Ali, who tried to pull but ended up getting a top-edge towards Jonny Bairstow placed at short fine leg.

After a blistering start given by Gaikwad and Mitchell, CSK's middle and lower-middle order collapsed against Rahul Chahar and Harshal. However, Ravindra Jadeja's fine cameo of 43 runs helped them reach a respectable score of 167-9.
