Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had a forgettable day on the field, as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated them by 50 runs in the eighth group-stage match of the IPL 2025. Batting first, RCB posted a challenging total of 196 runs. In response, CSK lost wickets at regular intervals, finishing their innings on 146 for 8 in 20 overs.

Former CSK skipper MS Dhoni showcased his power-hitting skills for the umpteenth time in the tournament. Although he was slammed by the fans for delaying his entry, the talismanic keeper-batter stole the show in the last over, hammering Krunal Pandya for a flurry of boundaries. 

Despite his last-over exploits, CSK found themselves far from a win, losing the game by a convincing margin. After the game concluded, MS Dhoni showed his love for his former Indian teammate Virat Kohli. 

As RCB clinched a historic victory over CSK after 17 years in Chennai, Dhoni and Kohli shared a lovely moment, embracing each other with an adorable hug. The moment was caught by the camera and instantly went viral on social media. 

CSK Lose 1st Game In IPL 2025

Led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, the Super Kings incurred their first defeat of the season tonight. While RCB claimed the top spot with their second win, CSK slipped to the seventh position in the IPL 2025 points table.
