In a significant development, the high-octane face-off between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) has been rescheduled. Earlier, the encounter was set to take place on April 6, Sunday, at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Why Has BCCI Rescheduled KKR vs LSG Match?
It's worth mentioning that April 6 was a double-header day, consisting of two cracking matches as per the official IPL 2025 schedule.
However, the Kolkata police requested the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) to reschedule the fixture, with security personnel getting deployed on that particular date due to a festival.
So, it was a daunting task for the state to provide security to the players from both sides on that date. As a result, the IPL governing council decided to reschedule the fixture, which will now be conducted on April 8 at 3.30 PM at the same venue.
Thus, April 6 will now witness a solitary face-off, with SRH meeting Gujarat Titans at 7.30 PM at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Meanwhile, two games will be played on April 8, with KKR taking on LSG in the afternoon, followed by a high-voltage affair between Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings.
KKR And LSG's Journey In IPL 2025 So Far
Both KKR and LSG had undesirable start to their IPL 2025 campaign, losing their respective opening games. However, they were quick to bounce back, defeating RR and SRH in their subsequent encounters. As they look in sublime form, a cracking contest is expected at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
