Mohammed Shami is India's premier pacer in the WTC final against Australia and in the absence of Bumrah, he is the one who needs to do heavy lifting. Shami though did not find his length in the first session as Australia ended the session with 73 for 2 at the end of 23 overs. However, Shami roared back in his first ball of the second session with a peach of a delivery and hit the timber getting rid of well-set Labuschagne.

Shami bowled a beautiful inswinger that started on off and sneaked between the bat and pad of Marnus Labuschagne as he went for a big booming drive. It was a much-needed wicket and at the time of writing, Australia are 99-3 at the end of 29 overs with Steven Smith and Travis Head at the crease.

Siraj was the one who got the first wicket of the Test match with a wicket of Usman Khawaja and at the end of of the final session, Shardul Thakur got the big wicket of Warner who was all set to unleash.

India would need to break the stand between Smith and Head quickly or things can drift away from India with Head taking an attacking route.
