The much-awaited WTC Final between India and Australia is underway finally at The Oval. India have won the toss and decided to bowl first in overcast conditions in London. It is a big moment for the players from both the sides and it is expected to be a cracking game. The big news though is that players from both the sides are wearing black bands in memory of the victims of Odisha Train Accident.

The Odisha train accident happened on 2nd of June when three trains collided in Balasore district of Odisha. It was one of biggest train accidents in the history of independent India and the death toll is almost 300.

This what OneCricket's close source in UK stated,

"The Indian Cricket Team will observe a moment of silence in memory of the victims of the Odisha train tragedy ahead of the start of play on Day 1 of the ICC World Test Championship final at The Oval. The team mourns the deaths and offers its deepest condolences to the families and friends of all those who tragically lost their lives. To express solidarity with those affected, Team India will wear black armbands."

This is India’s second WTC Final, and all Indian fans will be hoping that they get over the line this time after falling short against the Kiwis last time around. Australia are playing in their first WTC final after topping the table in the 2021-23 WTC cycle.

Australia is missing Josh Hazlewood in this Test match, while India are without the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, and Shreyas Iyer.
