The renovation work, which began earlier this year, is reportedly on track and expected to be completed by the end of January. Gaddafi Stadium will host four matches during the tournament, including the crucial second semi-final on March 5.

Earlier, ICC delegation also visited Karachi’s National Bank Stadium to take a  look at the  preparations for the Champions Trophy 2025. The six-member team reviewed the venue’s readiness for the tournament. The visit aimed to ensure that all necessary facilities are in place ahead of the tournament's scheduled start on February 19.

The slow and incomplete renovation work for the marquee tournament cast doubts on Pakistan’s ability to host its first major ICC event. However, later on, the PCB assured that all preparations were on schedule and emphasised that the tournament would proceed as planned.

The highly-anticipated Champions Trophy 2025 will feature eight teams divided into two groups. Group A includes Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh, while Group B features Afghanistan, South Africa, England, and Australia.
