India are facing South Africa in the second T20I of the four match series at the St George's Park. The visitors would have hoped to repeat their antics from the first match and seal the series in this game. However, South Africa have announced themselves with a brilliant bowling display and have put India on the back foot in the game.

Sanju Samson Fell For A Duck

Notably, India were put to bat as Aiden Markram once the toss for the second time in the series. The Indian opener Sanju Samson, who scored a brilliant Hundred in the last game, fell for a duck this time around. India were jolted by the early loss of their opener and struggled to recover from it.

Abhishek Sharma soon followed his partner and it was not long before Indian skipper, Suryakumar Yadav also walked back to the hut. At this stage, the onus was on Axar Patel and Tilak Varma to bail the team out from the pressure situation.

Tilak Varma Fails To Stick Together With Axar Patel

Axar Patel looked to play with a counter attacking approach and it was paying off for him. Tilak Varma also tried to join him in the eighth over off Aiden Markram's bowling. On the last ball of the over, Markram bowled a full delivery around the off stump. Varma stayed inside the line of the ball and tried to clear the infield on the off side with an inside out shot.

Varma did connect the ball nicely and it was flying past David Miller at cover. However, the 35-year-old timed his dive to perfection and plucked the ball out of thin air. The brilliant effort by Miller shocked Tilak Varma and brought a collective awe from the spectators present. The fall of Varma meant that India sunk into a deeper hole at 45/4 after eight overs.
