India and England are taking in each other in the first match of the T20 series. The match is taking place at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Ahead of the game, India won the toss and opted to field first in the match. Suryakumar Yadav gave the first over to his left-arm pacer, Arshdeep Singh.
The Indian pacer looked in a good rhythm with the ball. Arshdeep concentrated especially on keeping the length of the deliveries behind the good length and closer to Salt's body, not giving him any room to work with.
Arshdeep Puts England Under Early Pressure
The strategy by Arshdeep paid off, and in the fourth delivery, the opening batter of England fell. The pacer bowled a back-of-a-length delivery at the off-stump line that bounced extra and caught Salt off guard. Salt was caught trying to turn the ball to the onside but got a top edge to be taken by Sanju Samson.
England depended a lot on Salt and Ben Duckett to give the team a good start. The dismissal of Salt was disappointing for the English, and it was evident from the expression of Brendon McCullum that was caught on camera.
Besides the English team, RCB will also be disappointed with the show from Phil Salt. They would have hoped that their new ₹11.50 Cr buy would show the glimpses of some fire work that he would bring in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.
