The third edition of the Maharaja T20 League got on the way with the first match between Gulbarga Mystics and Bengaluru Blasters. The Bengaluru Blasters won the toss and opted to field first at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Gulbarga Mystics choke after a good start

The Mystics got off to a great start and looked set for a huge total after their opening duo stitched a partnership of 40 runs from just 12 deliveries. However on the very next delivery, Luvnith Sisodia was dismissed by Lavish Kaushal and this brought in a collapse for the Mystics.

They lost the next three wickets in a span of 22 deliveries adding only 16 runs. This weakened the base for the team and they failed to recover from this. In the end, the Mystics managed to score only 116 before being bundled out in the 17th over. 

Bengaluru Blasters demolish Mystics to win the first game


The Mystics would have hoped their bowlers to put in a resilient effort to put up fight in this game. However, Chethan LR ensured that the Bengaluru Blasters never got into any kind of trouble. He played a blazing knock of 53 runs from 34 deliveries, thrashing the bowlers to every part of the ground and taking the game away from the opposition. 

The skipper of the Bengaluru Blasters, Mayank Agarwal (47 off 29), also played a dashing knock alongside Chethan. The duo stitched a partnership of 101 runs for the opening wicket and ensured a nine-wicket win for the team with 64 balls remaining in the game. 

Chethan LR's knock might bring him in the eyes of the RCB management. The IPL franchise have had a void in the middle order due to the lack of consistent domestic performers. Does Chethan LR could turn out to be a player to hunt for during the IPL 2025 mega-auction. Notably, Chethan LR was the most expensive buy in Maharaja T20 League.
