The third Test between India and Australia of the ongoing five-match Test series is currently underway at the iconic Gabba. Australia have so far dominated the proceedings even though rain has played its part too, and India finished Day 3 with 51-4, still trailing by 394 runs.
KL Rahul was the only Indian batter who looked comfortable and came into Day 4 with lot of responsibility on his shoulders. The Indian hopes though were all set to be dashed on the very first ball of the day as Rahul nicked a short of good-length delivery from Pat Cummins straight to second slip.
Steve Smith Fails To Switch On His Engine On First Ball
Steve Smith though was not alert enough and ended up dropping a straightforward catch which he is expected to take even with his eyes closed. It could prove a big moment in the game as KL Rahul has shown good technique and he could make Aussie pay heavily if he gets set on the penultimate day of the Test match.
India are still way behind in the game though and they need their captain Rohit Sharma to step up and tak responsibility along with KL Rahul. Australia posted a massive score of 445 on the board in the first innings, courtesy twin centuries by Travis Head and Steve Smith. The pitch looked good for batting then, but Indian batters have struggled big time and it would be the Test of their skills and application with Aussies coming out all guns blazing to knock them over as quickly as possible.
