Bangladesh and New Zealand are playing against each other in the seventh match of the Champions Trophy 2025. The match is being played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
Notably, New Zealand won the toss ahead of the game and opted to field first. Tanzid Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto gave the team a steady start. The two batters were looking good in the middle, when Michael Bracewell got rid off Tanzid Hasan.
After the dismissal of the first wicket, Bangladesh tried to get back on the track. However, they kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and the skipper kept running out of partners. The fall of the second wicket brought Towhid Hridoy to the crease.
The right handed batter played a brilliant knock in the game against India and the expectation was on him to bring the innings back on track. However, Michael Bracewell struck once again and got rid off the middle-order batter.
Towhid Hridoy Fails After Scoring A Century
On the third delivery of the over, Bracewell bowled a tossed up delivery at the off and middle stump line. Towhid Hridoy stepped down the track and looked to go over the infield. However, Hridoy failed to get a proper connection and ended up slicing the ball in the air.
The ball was going over the infield. Kane Williamson fielding at extra cover ran behind and then put in a dive to take a stunning catch. The brilliant effort by the former Kiwi skipper reminded the Indian cricket fans of the World Cup 2023 final, where Travis Head took a similar catch of Rohit Sharma and the game change from there.
