Indian cricketing superstar Virat Kohli delivered a masterclass in the Champions Trophy 2025, guiding India to a commanding six-wicket win over Pakistan in Dubai. Chasing a target of 242, Kohli anchored the innings with an unbeaten 100, ensuring India's smooth passage to victory. 

Virat's knock, filled with patience, class and composure under pressure, reaffirmed his status as one of the game’s greatest chasers once again in the game. Following his stunning performance, Indian women's cricketer and RCB player Shreyanka Patil took to her Instagram story to congratulate Virat Kohli. 

Shreyanka Happy To See Her Idol Shine

A self-proclaimed admirer of the former India captain, Shreyanka has often spoken about how she idolized him growing up. Back in 2024, Patil revealed her admiration for the India and RCB star. 

“Started watching cricket cos of him. Grew up dreaming to be like him.” she wrote on ‘X’, posting her picture alongside Kohli from the RCB ‘Unbox’ event in 2024.

After India's match against Pakistan, Patil reposted a picture posted by the Indian Cricket Team's official Instagram handle with the caption 'The King. And can we please let him keep talking...'

Patil's appreciation for her idol can be understood as the 22-year-old revealed her fangirl moment in 2024 after her masterclass performance in WPL. She opened up that Kohli congratulated him and she was shell-shocked on the fact that Kohli knows her name. "Virat said, ‘Hi Shreyanka, well bowled.’ He actually knows my name," 

Shreyanka Patil Ruled Out Of WPL 2025

Shreyanka, who also plays for RCB in the WPL was unfortunately ruled out of the 2025 season after failing to recover in time from an injury. In her absence, Sneh Rana, who went unsold in the auction last year, has joined the RCB squad. 

Shreyanka made a strong impact in WPL’s inaugural season, picking up six wickets in seven matches. Shreyanka Patil has been a key performer as in 15 matches, she has taken 19 wickets while conceding 349 runs in 246 deliveries. Her best bowling figures stand at an impressive 4/12, and she has maintained a bowling average of 18.36 with an economy rate of 8.51. 

Her performances not only earned her a crucial role in the RCB setup but also brought her to the radar of national selectors. However, with her injury setback, she will be focusing on recovery as RCB navigates the challenges of the WPL 2025 season.
