Bangladesh's Mehidy Hasan Miraz was disappointed as William O' Rourke put an end to his innings for a low-score in the on-going ICC Champions Trophy 2025 clash between Bangladesh and New Zealand. The Kiwis looked cheerful after removing one of Bangladesh's strong performers.

Mehidy scored 13 runs off 14 balls and also slammed one maximum and one boundary during his time at the crease. However, O'Rourke had different plans for the star batter, who was promoted this time after coming out to bat at No. 6 during their match against India.

In the 12th over, William bowled a good length delivery around the middle and leg stump. Mehidy looked to whip it away, over the top of wide mid-on. He mistimed it from the splice of the blade and it was an easy catch for Kiwi skipper, Mitchell Santner.

Bangladesh Lose Two

Tanzid and Shanto attacked anything loose early on, but Tanzid fell for 24. Mehidy got off to a start but couldn’t build on it, chipping a catch to mid-on. Hridoy joined his captain, with New Zealand’s bowlers tightening up since the first powerplay.

The spinners are expected to bowl in tandem during the middle phase, as Bangladesh look to stabilize their innings and build a partnership.Bangladesh are 80/2 after 16 overs.
