[Watch] Kagiso Rabada Shatters Shreyas Iyer's Stumps With A Deadly Nip-Backer

Indian batter Shreyas Iyer was dismissed by Kagiso Rabada in the very first over after Lunch on Day 1. India lost their fourth wicket in the innings, and more importantly, South Africa got the much-needed breakthrough.

The incident happened during the 27th over right after we got back from lunch. Rabada, looking to close the over on a high, bowled a deadly wobble seam nip-backer, which came in sharp to hit the stumps. Iyer failed to read the movement and the ball kept a bit low to which he was late to bring his bat down in time.

Here is the video of Iyer's dismissal

Rabada got his second wicket of the day as he removed the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma earlier in the first session. Iyer, who looked like swinging his bat at everything, scored a quick 31 off 50. India was three down for just 24 when he joined Virat Kohli in the middle, and the duo went on to take India to lunch for 91 on the board without losing any further wickets.

Earlier, South Africa won the toss and asked India to bat first. The hosts got the best out of the helping conditions as they got rid of the Indian top order quite early. Rabada drew the first blood, with debutant Nandre Burger doing the further damage, sending back Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill at lower scores.

At the time of writing this, Rabada further removed the set Virat Kohli, leaving India stranded in all sorts of trouble. KL Rahul is the only recognisable batter left, with R. Ashwin batting at seven as team India desperately needs a partnership here to get to a respectable first-innings total.
