In a moment reminiscent of legendary wicketkeeper MS Dhoni, England captain Jos Buttler pulled off a magnificent runout during the fourth and decisive ODI against New Zealand at the Lord's Cricket Ground on Friday.

Jos Buttler affected Dhoni-esque stumping to dismiss Devon Conway

It all happened in the sixth over bowled by Reece Topley. New Zealand's Will Young, attempting a flick, missed the ball, which brushed off his pad and went to Buttler's left. Spotting an opportunity as Young ventured for a run, Buttler sprang into action.

Emulating Dhoni's trademark move, he swiftly removed his glove while charging at the ball and executed a precise throw, catching Devon Conway well short of his ground. Conway, one of New Zealand's dependable batsmen, was dismissed for just 7.

Meanwhile, New Zealand's troubles didn't stop there. As of the 27th over, the Kiwis find themselves reeling at 132/5 in their pursuit of a formidable 312 run target set by England. While many of their batsmen got starts, none could transform it into a significant contribution.

Glenn Phillips and Rachin Ravindra are in the middle, facing the uphill task of scoring the remaining 179 runs in 29 overs.

Earlier in the day, England, after winning the toss and opting to bat, put on a commendable 311/9 on the scoreboard, thanks mainly to Dawid Malan's explosive innings of 127 runs off just 114 balls. On the bowling front for the Kiwis, Rachin Ravindra stood out with commendable figures of 4/60 in his 10 overs.

With the game hanging in the balance and England looking to seal the deal and clinch the series, all eyes will now be on how New Zealand responds in the crucial overs ahead.
