Jofra Archer and Travis Head are two of the most impactful cricketers in the world and the battle between the two has always been fascinating. The same was expected in the high-profile Champions Trophy encounter, and though Travis Head was in form, Jofra Archer managed to get the better of him at a score of just 6.
Jofra Archer Draws First Blood After Batting Cameo
It was the first delivery of the fourth over and Jofra Archer bowled it full and outside off. Travis Head went hard at it but only managed to hit it back to the bowler off the inside half of his blade. Jofra Archer in his follow-through was quick to react and grabbed it with both hands in a flash, leaving the Australian opener shell-shocked.
However, just after taking the catch, Jofra Archer looked a bit worried about his fingers and it seemed that he is carry a bit of pain in those fingers. The wicket though was a big one for England and soon Mark Wood got the better of Aussie skipper Steve Smith, leaving Australia in all sorts of trouble.
Earlier, Australia won the toss and decided to chase and England despite losing some early wickets, kept going for their shots, and managed to reach a big total of 351 in their 50 overs. Ben Duckett led the way with magnificent 165 from 143 balls while Joe Root played a handy knock of 68.
Jofra Archer also came up with a handy cameo of 21 and is now showing his might with the ball, signifying his importance in this England's Champions Trophy campaign.
