For those who are fans of WWE, the term Low Blow is nothing new to them, as it often becomes the talk of the town.
Quinton de Kock, who came to open after Jos Buttler asked SA to bat first, received a similar treatment on Friday when South Africa met England in an important T20 World Cup 2024 match, and it was Jofra Archer who gave him the unwanted blow.
It was the first ball of the third over of South Africa’s innings, and de Kock, getting off to a flying start with an eight-ball 15, was on strike. Archer came into the attack for the first time in the day, and he started with a length delivery which pitched towards the middle stump.

De Kock did not expect it all, and hence, the ball went on to hit the box. In WWE terms, it was called Low Blow, and the South African wicket-keeper batsman was seen in agonising pain at the crease after the blow he received.

De Kock, however, produced an onslaught against Archer immediately after before going on to achieve the quickest half-century of the ongoing edition, which he got in just 22 balls.
