On the fourth day of the India versus England third Test match, the spotlight shone brightly on Kuldeep Yadav, not just for his bowling prowess but also for his unexpected batting display.

As the nightwatchman alongside Shubman Gill, Yadav surprised everyone with a well-executed six in the 54th over, showcasing his all-round capabilities.

His innings of 27 runs off 91 balls, though not monumental in terms of runs scored, was a testament to his grit and determination in the face of a challenging English bowling attack. However, his stay at the crease came to an end on the fourth day when a delivery from Rehan found the outside edge of his bat, resulting in a low catch taken by England's Joe Root.

Initially, the dismissal seemed straightforward, with Root immediately indicating discomfort due to a finger injury sustained during the catch. However, amidst a moment of hesitation from the players, an appeal was eventually made, prompting the umpires to refer the decision to the third umpire.

Upon review, it became apparent that Kuldeep Yadav had indeed edged the ball, bringing an end to what was a commendable innings under pressure.

At present, Team India finds themselves in a favorable position, boasting a substantial lead of more than 401 runs with seven wickets still intact - with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan in the middle.
