Jasprit Bumrah is India's premier bowler across formats and India needed him to deliver after posting a below-par total in the World Cup 2023 final. India required early wickets to give themselves a chance and India's new-ball bowlers have done exactly that. Shami first got rid of Warner and then Bumrah with a lovely delivery send back the dangerous Mitchell Marsh packing.

Marsh departed on 15 off 15 balls with one six and four to his name and with his wicket, Australia were reduced to 41-2. Bumrah got lot of swing right from his first over, but ended up giving 15 runs in that first over. However, he got the wicket of Marsh in his third over and made it a wicket-maiden, showing his class yet again on the big stage and under pressure.

Talking about the ball that got rid of Marsh, it was a touch shortish delivery, outside off and Marsh tried to hammer it away. However, the ball caught an underedge of his blade and KL Rahul behind the stumps took an easy regulation catch. Bumrah went onto take the wicket of Smith soon after, and it seems that Indian bowlers are in no mood to let things drift away soon.
