The 2024-25 season of the Men’s Super Smash was launched on December 26 and the third match will be held between Otago Volts and Auckland Aces. The match is set to take place at the Molyneux Park.

The Otago Volts started off their campaign well with a win against the Canterbury by 10 runs. As Volts posted a solid 165 on boards, the Canterbury led by Cole McConchie failed to counter Volts' spells and were bundled up for 155.

The Auckland Aces will be looking to start off their season strong by booking their first win in the upcoming clash. With seasoned veterans like Martin Guptill and explosive batters like Bevon Jacobs on their side, the Aces will look to capitalize on the Volts early in the match.
