AUS vs ENG: Pitch Report by Nasser Hussain and Matthew Hayden

Nasser: "Well, it is hot out in the middle, but there is a nice breeze blowing across the ground, and that breeze is vital today. I think it will be a factor. It's the strongest wind we've had at this ground this week, and it's blowing in the direction of the short boundary: 53 and 58 meters hitting downwind and 74 meters at deep midwicket hitting into the breeze."

Hayden: "To me, it's very similar to the others. There's quite a bit of movement in these tracks in particular, and it happens at both ends, so it won't necessarily favor one side or the other. Spin is going to be a factor, and I think it's going to be a bit of a battle. The average score here in the first innings has been around 143, but it's not going to be a 180-190 plus wicket."

AUS vs ENG: Captains' Thoughts

Mitchell Marsh (Australia Captain): "We would have bowled first. I think we should get a read on the conditions first, but hopefully, we can post a good total. Yeah, it's a big incentive for every team that's here. Everyone has come here to win this tournament. We start today; we're going to get past England, and it's going to be a great game. We've got a lot of experienced players that I'll lean on throughout this tournament and a great coaching staff. It's been great. Yeah, one change for us, Patty (Pat Cummins) comes in for Nathan Ellis."

Jos Buttler (England Captain): "We want to bowl first. A little bit unsure about what to do, really. Short boundaries and the wind will be the factor. Want to use that to our advantage later on, so bowling first. Playing Australia is a special thing that too in Barbados. Always a pleasure playing them here. Really excited for today. We have played well against Australia in the recent past. They are a great team. We are going with the same team for today. We have a great bunch of guys in the set-up."
