England are making a comeback in the third T20I at Rajkot after India bowled brilliantly and managed to restrict them for a manageable 171/9 at the end of 20 overs. This was after England were put to bat first by the Indian skipper, Suryakumar Yadav and Ben Duckett provided them with a brilliant start.
The left-handed opening batter played a blazing knock of 51 runs from just 28 deliveries and set the tone for the visitors to reach a formidable total. However, the departure of the southpaw put England under a bit of pressure as they faced a collapse where they lost five wickets for for just 19 runs. It took a special cameo by Liam Livingstone to take England to fighting total.
India suffered an early shock as they lost the talented wicketkeeper batter, Sanju Samson early in the chase. After the fall of Samson and Abhishek Sharma, the onus was on Suryakumar Yadav and the centurion of the previous game, Tilak Varma to take India home. While Suryakumar Yadav fell after scoring 14 runs off seven deliveries, Varma also did not last long.
Adil Rashid Leaves Tilak Varma Stunned
The left-handed middle-order batter started well and looked good in the middle. However, on the last ball of the eighth over, Varma faced a reaper from Adil Rashid that left him stunned and speechless. Rashid bowled a good length delivery that turned into the left handed batter viciously. Varma was trying to turn the ball towards the onside but missed the ball and it crashed onto his stumps ending his stay in the middle.
The unbelievable knock that Tilak Varma played in the last innings, had the Indian fans pinned their hopes on him. Thus his dismissal was a something that devastated the fans and they were seen expressing their frustration with hands on their heads.
