India and England are facing each other at the Niranjan Shah Cricket Stadium in Rajkot. India have put themselves in a dominating position in the game after winning the toss and scripting a dramatic come back during their bowling effort courtesy of the spinners.
The English team did not have a great start as they lost Phil Salt early for the third in the series. However, Ben Duckett soon changed the complexion of the game with his brilliant hitting and set the tone for a big total by the visitors. Duckett was looking in great touch and could have taken the game away from the Indian team had he remained longer. However, Axar Patel accounted for the southpaw after he played a knock of 51 runs from 28 deliveries.
The departure of Duckett shocked the English team and they started to lose momentum on the game. At one stage, India had the game completely in their control as they got five wickets for 19 runs. However, Liam Livingstone played a blazing cameo and ensured that England posted over 170 to compete in the game.
SKY Launches Archer Into The Stands
While chasing, India lost Sanju Samson early and were under pressure. It was at this stage that the Indian skipper, Suryakumar Yadav walked out into the stage and looked in a great mood. In the first ball of the fifth over, Suryakumar Yadav brought out his trademark SUPLA shot. It was a full delivery around the leg stump line. SKY got inside the line and picked up the ball over the deep square leg fence for a maximum.
The short reminded the fans of the first ever delivery that Surya played in the T20Is. It was also against Archer and he launched the English pacers into the stands with a similar shot. SKY looked in a great touch with the bat in this match but his innings did not stretch further 14 runs off seven deliveries. Mark Wood accounted for the Indian skipper and put the home team under more pressure.
