On Friday, the much-awaited ICC World Cup kickstarted with its warm-up matches taking centre stage across three Indian venues- Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram and Hyderabad. While the matches in Guwahati and Hyderabad were completed, the encounter between South Africa and Afghanistan was abandoned without toss due to rain. A similar trend has been followed today, with rain looking in mood to play spoilsport in both warm-up fixtures in Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram. 

While the toss has been delayed in the Australia vs Netherlands clash, the game hasn't yet started in Guwahati after India opted to bat. 

The passionate fans in Guwahati were eagerly waiting for the entry of the Indian openers into the middle, but unfortunately, rain arrived few moments before the scheduled start. 

As per a video posted by a RevSportz correspondent on social media, it's raining cats and dogs in Guwahati at the moment. Therefore, it's tough to predict the exact time of a restart.

As per weather.com, the weather forecast of Guwahati for today doesn't look promising, with the chances of precipitation reading 30-40 per cent throughout the day.
