Afghanistan spin twins Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad turned up for their country in their must-win World Cup 2023 clash against Netherlands in Lucknow. While Khan finished his spell by conceding just 31 runs from his 10 overs, Ahmad struck twice from his nine overs to fold Netherlands up for just 179 upfront.

The two cricketers, known for their wizardly spin through their identical action, recently prompted even the International Cricket Council (ICC) to compare their bowling styles on social media. During the Netherlands innings, the apex body shared a short video on their Instagram account, which features the bowling runup of both Khan and Ahmad from the non-striker’s end.

The video instantly went viral across social media, garnering over quarter of a million views on the file-sharing app within its opening hour itself.

Regardless, the two spinners played their hands in dismantling Netherlands for just 179 in their must-win game. Senior man Mohammad Nabi, on the other hand, claimed three wickets in his spell in an innings, which also featured four demoralizing runouts.

A win against Netherlands at this stage of the 2023 World Cup will bring Afghanistan back on the semi-final reckoning, as the race for a top four finish continues to heat up.
