Hetmyer plays straight to Shreyas (X.com)
Shimron Hetmyer had a rare failure on Tuesday (April 15) in Match 31 of IPL 2024 between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens. The West Indian hard-hitting finisher, who was only dismissed for once in six attempts, fell for golden duck, and it was Varun Chakravarthy who got the dangerous batsman.
The Royals required something special from Hetmyer after coming to chase a huge target of 224. They lost Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson without making much impact before Riyan Parag and Jos Buttler then steadied the ship.
However, a mini-collapse in the middle overs brought Hetmyer in the middle. And a soft dismissal ended his stay very little, as he chipped straight into the hands of Shreyas Iyer, who was well placed at short cover.

Meanwhile, RR would rely on Buttler to fire against KKR at this point. England's limited-overs' captain is currently batting on 58* off 39 balls, as RR have reached 145/6 after 15 overs. They still require 79 off 30 balls to get a memorable victory.
Notably, it was Hetmyer's first duck in the IPL after five years.
