South Africa's Heinrich Klaasen created history on Wednesday, registering the first-ever Major League Cricket (MLC) hundred. Klaasen playing for Seattle Orcas scored an unbeaten 110* against MI New York, which helped his franchise chase down a record target of 195 runs.

Klaasen's 110* came in just 44 balls and included nine fours and seven towering sixes, which captivated the crowds in Morrisville

However, the highlight of the match was Klaasen's onslaught against MI NY spinner Rashid Khan. The Orcas' wicket-keeper batter struck Khan for 26 runs in his final over, which was also the 16th over of the innings.

The 31-year-old classed Khan around in the over, hitting as many as three sixes, two of which came on the first two deliveries.  While the first maximum was over cow corner, the other two were thumped over long-on.

The run-heavy over also included one four and two doubles.

Interestingly, the very next over yielded three wickets for MI New York as well, where pacer Trent Boult managed to outfox Dwaine Pretorius, Imad Wasim, and Harmeet Singh.

Undeterred, Klaasen continued his charge and helped Seattle beat NY by two wickets, and finish the group stage as table-toppers.

The Orcas will clash against Texas Super Kings in Qualifier on July 27.
