India women's captain Harmanpreet Kaur's public outburst against umpiring in the recently concluded One-Day International series in Bangladesh has not gone well with former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi.

After being given out in the third ODI, Kaur lost her composure, smashed the stumps with her bat, and expressed her disappointment over umpiring standard in the post-match photo-op ceremony.

However, the International Cricket Council has handed Kaur a two-match ban. Besides being fined, the Indian captain was handed three demerit points.

Afridi, speaking to Samaa TV, stated that Kaur went over the board while maintaining that aggression in cricket is good.

Here's what Afridi said

"This is not just India. We've seen these things in the past as well. Although, we don't see this often in women's cricket. This was way too much, it was a big event under ICC. With the punishment, you set an example for the future. You can get aggressive on cricket; controlled aggression is good, but this was a bit too much."

Kaur, named as Indian captain for the upcoming Asian Games in Hangzhou, will miss quarterfinal and a potential semi-final match. In her absence, experienced opener Smriti Mandhana will lead the team.
