India are currently playing against South Africa in the first T20I of the four match series. The two teams are battling it out at the Kingsmead in Durban. India have batted brilliantly in the game and have taken an advantage in the match.

Aiden Markram won the toss and invited India to bat first in the game. The visitors lost Abhishek Sharka early in the innings. However, this did not deter them from moving towards a handsome total, courtesy of Sanju Samson.

Sanju Samson Registers His Name In The Record Books

The Indian keeper-batter played a brilliant knock and brought up his second Hundred in his T20I career off just 47 deliveries. As he went past the three figure mark, Sanju Samson broke two unique records. He became the first Indian to score two consecutive centuries in T20Is and also registered the quickest century for the nation against South Africa. Notably, the record for the quickest century by and Indian previously belonged to Suryakumar Yadav, who reached the landmark in 55 deliveries.

Sannju Samson was dismissed in the 16th over after he head already scored 107 runs off just 50 deliveries. With the dismissal of Samson, it became the duty of the lower order batters to take the target beyond the reach of the Proteas.

Hardik Pandya Falls Trying To Increase The Scoring Rate

The Indian star all-rounder, Hardik Pandya was looking to be aggressive from the very beginning of his innings. He was trying to keep the momentum for the team. Though, his intent was correct his timing was not and that resulted in his demise. Om the fifth delivery of the 17th over, Coetzee bowled a length delivery outside the off stump. Pandya tried to slice it away over the point fielder in the deep. But as he did not get the connection right, the ball landed in the hands of Marco Jansen stationed at deep point.
