India are currently taking on South Africa in the first T20I of the four match series at the Kingsmead in Durban. The Indian team is looking to rejuvenate themselves after a disappointing show in their own backyard against New Zealand.

The South Africa team won the toss in the match and put India to bat first. The Indian team would have hoped for a good start from their openers to lay down the foundation for a formidable total. 

Abhishek Sharma Failed To Deliver

However, Abhishek Sharma, who is known for his naturally aggressive batting style failed to deliver as per the promise he has shown. It was once again a start that did not get converted for the young left-handed batter. 

During his short stay in the middle, Sharma played a beautiful drive against Aiden Markram by stepping down the track. However, against the speedster, Gerald Coetzee, Sharma could not continue his smooth batting. 

Markram Takes A Brilliant Catch To Dismiss Sharma

On the first delivery of the fourth over, Coetzee bowled a length delivery outside the off stump. Abhishek Sharma planted his front foot and swung across the line looking to go downtown. However, the left handed batter completely mistimed the shot and it skied up in the air towards mid-off. Aiden Markram, the South African skipper tracked the ball backward and took a brilliant catch to send Sharma home. Despite looking in rhythm, the young batter had to walk back to the hut disappointed.
