Hardik Pandya's captaincy has come under heavy criticism since he has taken over the leadership of Mumbai Indians because of some poor bowling changes and changes in batting order. However, in the big game against CSK, he came up with a DRS masterstroke along with Ishan Kishan to send back dangerous Rachin Ravindra back to the hut.

It was the 8th over of the match and Shreyas Gopal bowled a shortish delivery, outside off. The CSK opener tried to cut it but only managed to get the toe-end of his blade which was caught by Ishan Kishan behind the stumps. However, it was only Ishan Kishan that heard the edge and he convinced Hardik Pandya to take the DRS.

The MI skipper obliged and took the DRS immediately which resulted in the change of decision as Rachin Ravindra was given out. Earlier, Mumbai Indians won the toss and decided to bowl first on the ground that is known to be a good chasing ground.

Surprisingly, CSK promoted Ajinkya Rahane as an opener but that did not work for them and Rahane departed in just the second over with Gerald Coetzee's pace proving too hot to handle for the veteran.
