Australia's experienced batter Grace Harris couldn't convert her start into a significant score in the first Women's Big Bash League encounter between Brisbane Heat and Adelaide Strikers. Opening the batting for the Heat Women, Harris struck 29 runs before Jemma Barsby's stunning catch sent her packing.

The incident occurred during the eighth over of Brisbane's innings when Grace Harris was trying to steady the ship alongside Lauren Winfield-Hill. Adelaide Strikers' captain Tahlia McGrath's decision to bring Barsby into the attack worked wonders, as she got the prized scalp of Grace Harris.

The wily spin bowler initially kept Harris quiet with her immaculate accuracy. After three consecutive dot balls, Harris started to feel the heat and charged down the track to play a release shot.

However, she was outfoxed by Jemma Barsby, who slipped one quicker through the air and made her hit the ball in the air. As the ball travelled quickly, the bowler timed her dive to perfection, taking a sharp catch on her follow-through.

Brisbane Heat Cruising Towards A Victory Vs The Strikers In WBBL

Despite losing Harris at a crucial juncture of the game, Brisbane Heat Women stabilised their innings, courtesy of a valiant stand between Jess Jonassen and Charli Knott. Before being dismissed, skipper Jonassen contributed crucial 21 runs. At the time of writing, the Heat Women were 120 for four, with Knott and Laura Harris batting on 37* and 5*, respectively. Earlier, Adelaide Strikers posted a respectable 133-run total, so the Heat need only 14 runs to win.
