Punjab Kings (PBKS) star opener Prabhsimran Singh delivered a stellar performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 69th match of IPL 2024 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on May 19.
Prabhsimran, who has had a mixed tournament this season, unleashed an onslaught against the SRH bowlers, scoring 71 off 45 balls. His impressive innings, however, came to an end in the 15th over when leg-spinner Vijayakanth Viyaskanth struck.
The incident occurred in the 14th over of the match when Viyaskanth bowled a fuller delivery on the pads. Prabhsimran attempted to swipe it into the leg side but missed, and the ball hit his front pad.

As the ball was lobbing up, it brushed his gloves, leading to an exceptional catch by wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen. Klaasen, displaying great reflexes, dived forward and took a wonderful one-handed catch. The appeal was made, and the umpire raised his finger.
Prabhsimran reviewed the decision, but the replay showed a spike when the ball was close to the gloves, confirming the original decision of OUT.
At the time of writing, PBKS are at 174 for 3 in 16 overs, setting a solid foundation for a strong finish.
