The 39th match of the World Cup 2023 between Australia and Afghanistan is one of the most crucial games of the tournament, with a semi-final spot in line, and it is turning out to be quite an intense one. Afghanistan posted a good total of 291 while batting first, and in reply, Australia were reduced to 49-4 courtesy of some quality pace bowling by the Afghans.

Also, there was a quite an interesting verbal battle between Rashid Khan and David Warner at the end of the fourth over. Warner was seen having some serious words with Rashid Khan and looked quite disturbed and animated with something Rashid probably did during that over. Rashid though tried to cool Warner down but the left-handed batter was in no mood to back down.

Rashid Khan actually looked pretty pumped up when he came out to bat in the first innings and smashed 35 off 18 balls. Recently, there have been some tensions between Australia and Afghanistan after Cricket Australia refused to play home bilateral series against Afghans. It was because of banning of women's cricket in Afghanistan after Taliban came to power but the move did not go well with Afghanistan players and many players like Rashid Khan, Naveen-ul-Haq criticised Australia.

So, this is a new rivalry that seems to be brewing in world cricket and Afghanistan have certainly lifted their game to challenge Aussie on the field as well.
