The Manchester Originals are taking on the Welsh Fire in the third match of the Women's Hundred 2024. This match is being played at the Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester.

The Manchester Originals won the toss in the match and decided to bat first. Laura Wolvaardt and Beth Mooney opened the innings for the Manchester Originals. The duo started of steadily and gave the platform to the team to prosper in the later half of the innings. 

Laura Wolvaardt was looking good at the crease. She found a good rhythm in her innings as she decorated her knock with some beautiful shots.

Freya Davies puts in a great effort

In the 44th delivery of the innings Freya Davies dropped Wolvaardt. Georgia Davis tossed up the ball at the off stump line inviting the South African opener to go down the ground. Wolvaardt accepted the invitation and tried clear the mid-wicket fence. However, she dod not get the right connection and provided a change to the Fire to dismiss here. 

Freya Davies in the deep came running in and dived forward for the catch. It was a brilliant effort on part of Davies, however she failed to hold onto the catch. 

The way Wolvaardt set herself in the crease, this chance could have proven costly. However, it was not long before Jess Jonassen dismissed Wolvaardt and gave her team a bit of relief.
