Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) faced a setback as Ravi Bishnoi fell prey to a rare failure with the bat in IPL 2024 against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday.

As LSG battled to chase down the formidable 208 set by DC, Bishnoi's dismissal proved to be a pivotal moment. Coming in to bat at the 10th spot, his innings was cut short in a manner that left spectators in disbelief.

The moment arrived in the 19th over, with Mukesh Kumar delivering to Arshad Khan. Bishnoi, perhaps caught off-guard, found himself scrambling to make it to the crease as a thigh-height full toss on the stump line was swiveled across wide of deep midwicket.

However, it was the brilliance of Jake Fraser-McGurk in the field that sealed Bishnoi's fate. Despite a tough day, Fraser-McGurk's impeccable throw hit the bull's eye at the bowler's end, catching Bishnoi short of his ground.

The decision was sent upstairs, but the verdict was clear: Bishnoi had to depart scoring 2 runs, leaving LSG with just one wicket remaining.

With this crucial wicket, LSG's hopes took a severe blow. Losing the match by 19 runs against DC, LSG now faces an uphill battle to secure a spot in the playoffs. 

The defeat adds to the mounting pressure on the team, as they strive to turn the tide in their favor and keep their playoff aspirations alive.
