Fazalhaq Farooqi is fast growing in stature with each passing game, and after a brilliant T20 World Cup, he has done well in The Hundred 2024 as well. Now, in the 23rd game of the season, he produced one of the finest deliveries of the season when he knocked over in-form Ollie Pope with an absolutely perfect left-arm seamer's inswinger.

Manchester Originals scored 135 after being put to bat by London Spirit. The Men in Black needed early wickets with the ball to put pressure on the opponents in the run-chase and Fazalhaq Farooqi with his stunning skills provided those crucial breakthroughs.

He got the first wicket of Michael Pepper and then got the England Test vice-captain for a golden duck with a delivery that came in sharply from the off-stump line to find the gap between the bat and pad of Ollie Pope.

London Spirit Knocked Out

It was a big wicket for Manchester and after Pope, Dan Lawrence too departed for a golden duck courtesy a run-out. Fazalhaq Farooqi eventually ended with three wickets which included a crucial one of Andre Russell as well, and managed to clinch their first game of the season. 

With this loss, London Spirit have been knocked out of the Hundred 2024 and are the second team to reach elimination after Manchester Originals.
