Faf Du Plessis is one of the finest cricketers to ever play the game and is still going strong at the age of 40. He was an integral part of CSK's line-up during their IPL win in 2021 and now is leading Joburg Super Kings in SA20 and the 2025 edition has started on a bright note for the men in Yellow.

Faf du Plessis won the toss and decided to bowl first and his bowlers have done a superb job by restricting MI Cape Town to just 140 in the first innings. Pathirana was the bowler and it was the third delivery of the 14th over. Linde dabbed a length ball on off to point and first set off for a single. However, Azmatullah Omarzai sent him back as he saw no chance of a single. The throw came in towards the batter's end and it missed the stumps.

Big Mix-Up Between MI Cape Town Stars

The ball then went to the leg side towards Leus du Plooy and that's where the communication gap happened. Azmatullah sensed an opportunity to take a single off an overthrow and called for a run. Linde obliged half-heartedly and both of them were guilty of ball watching and Azmatullah failed to hear the NO call from Linde and both were stranded at the batter's end.

The throw by that time came to the bowler's end and Matheesha Pathirana removed the bails as Joburg Super Kings celebrated the big breakthrough. Super Kings' skipper Faf du Plessis was also overjoyed and hugged Pathirana and it was quite a moment between the former CSK star and the current one.

MI Cape Town has started the season with a win, but they now have an uphill task of stopping Joburg Super Kings in the run-chase after disappointing batting performance.
